Texas State University Online and Extended Programs (OXP) provides the university community with a wide range of educational options through fully online degree programs, extension studies, and self-paced courses—while also serving as a resource hub for distance learners and educators.
In my role with OXP, I oversaw all media, website, branding, and design efforts for Texas State’s online branch. A major initiative I led was the creation of online.txst.edu, the university’s first-ever dedicated site for promoting fully online undergraduate and graduate degree programs. This project required collaboration with over 16 Texas State departments, site mapping and conceptual design alongside our leadership team, and post-launch user testing to ensure accessibility and clarity. Today, the site attracts 1,300 unique visitors daily and continues to grow.
I also spearheaded the redesign of the Distance and Extended Learning website, consolidating five separate program sites into one cohesive, accessible platform. Partnering with third-party marketing firms, I analyzed user data to inform decisions around UI, tone, and content strategy—resulting in a streamlined site that draws prospective students in to explore programs and services.
Beyond these core projects, I led several design and marketing initiatives to elevate OXP’s reach. For the “Study in America” program, I developed new branding and created dedicated marketing pages—filling courses that had previously struggled with low enrollment and driving steady growth in recruitment. My work with the Continuing Education division significantly boosted site traffic and attracted many prospective non-traditional students, broadening the program’s impact and visibility.
Additionally, I supported Texas State’s First-Gen Proud Initiative, providing media and design for campaigns and events, including the inaugural First-Generation Graduation Celebration, which spotlighted the unique challenges and successes of first-generation students.
